Biography

Dr. Wayne Paprosky is a pioneering orthopedic surgeon renowned for his contributions to hip and knee replacement surgery. He was among the first to adopt cementless implants for total hip replacement, a practice that has since become the standard of care. Dr. Paprosky is also celebrated for developing the Paprosky Classification System, a widely used framework for guiding revision hip surgery. 

Fifteen years ago, in collaboration with Dr. Charles Engh, Dr. Paprosky introduced the first gender-specific hip implant designed for women. This innovation laid the groundwork for the advanced gender-specific implants available today, tailored to meet the needs of active individuals. 

Dr. Paprosky’s expertise extends to minimally invasive hip and knee surgeries, allowing many patients to return home within 24 hours of the procedure. His approach emphasizes rapid recovery and reduced hospital stays, enhancing patient outcomes and comfort.
