Biography

Dr. Sporer specializes in hip, knee, and joint replacement surgery, with a focus on primary and revision arthroplasty. His expertise includes both anterior and posterior approaches to hip replacement, as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques designed to accelerate recovery. 

Dr. Sporer earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residencies at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. He further advanced his training as an adult reconstruction fellow at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Sporer is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sporer is actively involved in the orthopedic community. He serves on the board of directors for both The American Joint Replacement Registry and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has also advanced the field of joint replacement through research. His areas of focus include long-term follow-up studies of hip replacements, complications associated with total knee replacement, and regional variations in medical practices.
