Biography
Dr. Nitin Goyal is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care of the hand and upper extremity. He believes in empowering patients through education to make thoughtful treatment decisions that optimize the return to daily activities, hobbies, and work. Treatment options typically include observation, occupational therapy, bracing, injections, or surgery. Dr. Goyal’s goal is to work with patients to select the least invasive option that provides the most reliable outcomes.
Originally from Naperville, Dr. Goyal graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude) in Economics from Northwestern University, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. He received his medical degree with honors (Cum Laude) from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Goyal completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center, where he received the Surgical Specialty Intern of the Year Award and was selected to attend the AOA Resident Leadership Forum. He then completed his hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Goyal strongly believes in contributing to the field of orthopedics. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, presented his research at several national and international meetings, and was given the Chief Resident Award for the Best Research Presentation while in residency at Rush University. Dr. Goyal feels humbled to serve the Chicagoland community that raised him and is committed to taking care of his patients with sincerity and integrity.
